Art is my gateway to another place.  A safe place.  For me, abstract art is more difficult to access. These are the times I call up Jackson Pollock, Philip Guston, or Jean-Michel Basquiat for inspiration.

I think of each of my character paintings as my friend because they represent a different piece of me. Sometimes art is too much for me to handle, and can leave me overwhelmed and depressed. When this happens, I just wait it out until I’m recharged. True for most things in life, I suppose.
